Keswick Mountain Rescue Team contacted us requesting assistance in rescuing a walker who had become unwell whilst on Bowscale Fell. Keswick's report of the incident and rescue follows. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Penrith Mountain Rescue Team supported us in dealing with Incident 29 as we didn't have enough team members available. Many thanks for lending a hand! As we were low on numbers we didn't have enough spare heads to be social media savvy and get any photos. It was a very sunny day in the mountains if that paints a picture. Incident: 29 Location: Bowscale Fell Callout Date: 08/04/2025 Callout Time: 10:13 am Agencies Involved: Keswick MRT, Penrith Mountain Rescue Team A woman reported that her husband had collapsed and was briefly unconscious. As Keswick team were low on numbers support was requested from Penrith MRT with both teams making their way to the casualty location from Mungrisedale. A team medic made an assessment and although the man had largely recovered he was still light headed and was therefore stretchered down to the team vehicles. His wife then took him to hospital for further checks. Many thanks to Penrith for their support. 2 hours 14 minutes – 12 Keswick + 9 Penrith team members
